Sculpture—“We Will Miss Them When They’re Gone”

This contemplative work was created with BMix clay, a soft white clay that feels and looks similar to porcelain and is a good clay for sculpting. The young woman is surrounded by leaves, earth, and birds. To me, she is contemplating the fate of our natural world. She is approximately 17 inches high, 10 inches deep, and 12 inches wide. She was bisque fired to cone 04 and then waxed with a special Sonite wax. The sculpture has the appearance of marble or terra sigelatte.
