This 12-inch round lace medallion tile is decorated in subtle tones of purple, yellow, and black. White stoneware, Amoco velvet underglazes. Ready to hang, All items are made individually and by hand, so no two are alike.
HOW IT'S MADE: I roll out a slab of white stoneware clay, place a piece of lace on it, and run a pastry roller over the lace to impress the lace design onto the clay. Then I let it dry for several days and bisque fire it. After the piece is bisque, I decorate it with an underglaze (usually Amoco) and a shiny overglaze, then low fire the piece again. If it is a wall hanging, I attach hardware so that the piece is ready to hang.
